An exclusive access to the glass House in Paris.
The glass house (1927-1931) demonstrates Pierre Chareau’s ability to build a new kind of space, while exploring new and precise materials. The house is noticeable because of its glass façade and unusual innovative industrial materials. Inside the house, the mobility of various elements gives the sensation of a dynamic interior where movements occur in a movie-like manner behind the light facade… But most of all, the house was built to satisfy a way of life where each room can adapt to fit a particular activity or need. Fete de la musique June 21st 2008
The Fete de la Musique (Festival of Music) is a nationwide event, although most of the major performances are held in Paris. The city's huge variety of venues provides an excellent opportunity to sample a range of musical styles from classical to reggae. Some of the main events take place in the open-air in Place de la Bastille, the Hotel des Invalides, Place de la Republique and Parc de la Villette. But music is played throughout the city in parks, bars, restaurants, cafes and even some of the Metro (underground) stations, so it is best to wander the city and soak up the fantastic festival atmosphere.
